Solar PiezoClean started when Maher Maymoun the founder was doing his master’s research in Energy Engineering at University of Illinois at Chicago, where he developed a self-cleaning technology for Solar Panels without using water. He decided to move this research into a business that creates a positive impact in both Energy and Water Sectors through this green innovation. Solar PiezoClean participated in several regional and global competitions and got the Queen Rania Entrepreneurship Award (First Prize), Open Hands Initiative Award (2nd Prize), Emirates Energy Award 2015 (Silver Prize), in June 2016 Solar PiezoClean was awarded three out of 12 Total prizes in the Global Entrepreneurship Summit that was held in Silicon Valley, CA with the competition of more than 1075 projects worldwide, selected to be one of the top 10 Arab startups in Harvard Arab Competition in November 2016, winner for Renewable Energy Theme in Hussein Fund Award for Excellence- 2015, the Founder Maher got the Energy Innovator of the Year 2017 from Association of Energy Engineers AEE- USA, and the Young Energy Professional of the year 2018 on the global level by AEE-USA.
Solar PiezoClean SPC is now incubated under the umbrella of the Crown Prince Foundation of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and SPC has completed an advanced pilot project at Ayla-Aqaba south of Jordan to install several cleaning solutions and monitor their impact, and select the best method for that Mega Scale size project.
In parallel of providing commercial robotic and sprinklers cleaning solutions, Solar PiezoClean is performing R&D development of the prototyping for the “Piezofilm technology”, and next phase is to develop the design of the advanced level testing research process which will be controlled experiment, evaluating the technology at all conditions and performed at certified laboratories, in order to provide the clients state of the art self-cleaning technology that reliable, efficient, and feasible.
Solar Piezoclean is the exclusive partner for several cleaning solutions, and for our invention the “Piezofilm” technology we are following a Licensing Model, so we will finish optimizing and customizing our technology for each geographical location (as dust properties varies), and then license one or more solar panel manufacturers to integrate Solar PiezoClean technology within their panels, and Solar PiezoClean get a certain amount of money per each panel sold.
